SLVS Therapy is a privately owned company founded by Emily Roll, M.S., CCC-SLP. Emily has 6+ years experience working with pediatric and adult clients. Emily graduated with her B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from The University of Texas at Austin. Emily received her M.S. from New York University. Emily has experience working in outpatient clinics, home health, schools, skilled nursing facilities, and hospitals. Emily is certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and licensed by the state of Texas.
Emily is certified in the McNeill Dysphagia Therapy Program and specializes in treating adults with aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia and other speech, language, voice difficulties. Common diagnosis treated include: stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), dementia (Alzheimer's), brain tumors, head and neck cancer, and more.
Emily provides one-to-one speech therapy to adults and children and encourages family involvement, as communication involves the speaker and the listener.
Therapy is provided in-home, in-daycare, or online (teletherapy).

Aphasia: Getting the Right Words Out
Aphasia is when a person has a difficult time saying or understanding words in conversation. Aphasia commonly occurs after someone experiences a stroke. Aphasia can cause difficulty speaking, reading, writing, or understanding speech.
There are different types of aphasia and your Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will work with you to improve your communication skills.
